CONCUSSION CENTRAL
REQUIRED BY LAW
ALL coaches in Connecticut who are required to hold a coaching permit must take this initial concussion course - Module 15, an annual concussion review (provided by your district) and take a refresher course every 5 years. This edict includes any coach of a school program K-12 including cheer, dance & intramurals. Also, the CIAC requires this of all member schools which includes parochial schools.
STATE OF CONNECTICUT APPROVED CONCUSSION COURSES
Module 15 - Concussions & Neck Injuries
This is the only initial training course approved in Connecticut and is required for all coaches prior to them starting as a coach. It may also be used in lieu of te 5 year refresher to utilized .3 CEU credits.
Concussion Refresher Course

For ALL Coaches EXCEPT Football Coaches)
All coaches (EXCEPT FOOTBALL COACHES) must take this concussion refresher course within 5 years from having taken their initial Module 15 course and this refresher course must be taken every 5 years thereafter. The course is online FREE to all coaches but cannot be accessed unless you have already taken Module 15 and your information is in our data base correctly.
Module 51 - Concussion Refresher & Best Practices
for FOOTBALL Coaches
All football coaches must take this concussion refresher course Module 51 (.3 ceu) within 5 years from having taken their initial Module 15 course and the refresher must be taken every 5 years thereafter. The football refresher course includes best practices in coaching the sport of football. Because of the design and length of the course football coaches will reciive 3 hours of ceu credit towards renewing their permit.
